With the sun peeking out through the clouds we decided to visit a north city of Germany – and, more precisely, Lübeck – for our next review. Located near Hamburg, this city is considered an UNESCO World Heritage and although being a small city is full of history and plenty to do and discover in a weekend.
In this two days adventure we tried two different hotels: The Atlantic Hotel and the Radisson Blu Senator Hotel.
The Atlantic Hotel
Although a 4 star hotel, this hotel looked sophisticated and, together with the Radisson, we believed it was the best Lübeck had to offer.
The staff at the reception desk was polite and very helpful providing several informations regarding the city and, more specifically, about boat trips to Travemünde (we highly recommend this trip!).
Situated in the town’s heart the hotel was like the city: small but very cosy. For this night the hotel was almost booked out and, sadly, they only had the Comfort Double Room available. The room itself was rather tiny but very confortable. The space was eye catchy, with smooth lines, modern design and neutral colors, providing a sense of relaxation. Although not as big as we have seen previously, the bathroom was pleasant and clean offering a medium size bathtub with a strong water flow shower (these small details matter to the costumer, as you will see in our next review). The view was nothing special at all and during our stay there were some music concerts in the city and we were thinking “this building needs a better sound isolation”, since we could hear the music from outside. Because we arrived rather late to the hotel we were, unfortunately, unable to explore the spa so we didn’t give a grade to that category
We, of course, tried the breakfast and we can say that it was identical to the ones provided by 5 star hotels so kudos for that.
Our very own sum up: This hotel did not stun us but we left with a nice overall image from it, especially due to its location, design and breakfast.
